Instructional DVD #1 Surface Etching Techniques by Norm Dobbins. This video shows you everything you need to know to do surface etching, what abrasive (sandblast) etching is all about and how it is done, including equipment and supplies necessary, how to locate and prepare designs, applying and cutting resist, blasting the glass and finishing. The filming of the actual blasting taking place inside the cabinet is excellent. There are also sections on using pre-cut resists, a project is completed using an On-site Blaster, and safety considerations are reviewed. This is where to start if you don't know anything about abrasive (sandblast) etching or for a refreshier or for helping train employees. It starts with a basic explanation of what abrasive etching is and goes on to present 4 projects. You can follow along with the tape and produce the same projects by using the supplied patterns. By the time you finish the tape and projects, you will by well on your way to becoming a glass etching expert.
